YouTube is Dying, Musk’s Twitter Theory

YouTube probably had it coming anyway, Musk has some big plans for Twitter.

YouTube is a great platform for sharing videos but recently the whole set-up is becoming annoying.

All YouTube videos have ads accompanying them which sometimes appear twice or more times in a video.

Of course no platform, so far, has been able to give YouTube a run for their money.

Few days ago, I read an article where Elon Musk was speaking on Twitter Video which I believe would be the beginning of the end of YouTube.

In Musk’s texts he mentioned that the platform would not be splitting revenue with creators but will be giving them full access to their Revenue as long as it is below $1 million.

“Splitting revenue with video creators like YouTube could be a huge unlock. We could literally give video creators 100% of their ad revenue up to $1m then do split.”

– Elon Musk

I must say that Musk has some pretty creative ideas for Twitter. Here are some of the things he has planned.

  • Twitter Video: Musk hopes to create a version of YouTube where creators have high priority to the platform. By giving the creators 100% of ad revenue, this would be an amazing idea.
  • Blockchain Technology: To reduce the amount of spams and bots on the platform, users will be required to pay a small amount of crypto in order to create posts.
  • Mr. Beast: The popular YouTuber is going to get an official signing to the platform. Probably other creators will be added to. It’s a great strategy to take the biggest assets YouTube has and chop them down with it.
  • Reduction in Twitter Staff: Musk plans to cut down the Twitter team from 8,000 to 3,000 which will take effect immediately. Well, seems like a lotta people are going to lose their jobs.

Undoubtedly, YouTube has had a great run as a video sharing platform but too much room is given for mediocrity on the platform and has given us less reason to want to stick with the platform.

From the excessive ads to the payments for videos in 4k, YouTube has some loopholes to sort out.

We came to YouTube in search of creative freedom and a platform that would showcase our work to the world. And while it did that for a while, YouTube is now nothing better than television with extra steps.

Will YouTube be leaving anytime soon?

Probably not!

But undoubtedly if Musk gets the opportunity to get Twitter Video up and running the way he has planned, we might just be on the verge of seeing the first thing that would give YouTube a run for their money.

But for now, I don’t consider any platform established enough to replace YouTube. Dailymotion, Rumble, TikTok are all great platforms but they don’t have anything on YouTube just yet.
